If you have been following Steve Lafler’s original Dog Boy comics from the 1980′s that have been resurrected and posted here at CO2 Comics in all their glory you know that Dog Boy represents all that is amazing about creating comics.
Steve’s stream of conscious sense of storytelling, willingness to experiment and break down old paradigms are perfect examples of the defiance that have made comics as a medium a cultural catalyst and a medium of choice for many independent creators.
Since Dog Boy, Steve has given the world many other classics like 40 Hour Man, Self Employment for Bohemians, Tranny, the critically acclaimed Bughouse and another hot new feature El Vocho which too can be read right here at CO2 Comics.
We have always been big fans of Steve’s which is evident by our original post introducing his work here on the site http://www.co2comics.com/blog/2010/03/23/the-gutter-co2-comics-steve-laflertogether-at-last/
Now, Steve has thrilled us with all new Dog Boy material that will begin its run today. Dacades after its initial release Dog Boy still has the same impulsive creativity and verve that it has ever had.
Visually the new Dog Boy material reflects changes in Steve’s drawing style and is consistent with the quality found in the newer El Vocho material.
No matter how the ink hits the paper, I guarantee that you never can know what to expect when reading Dog Boy. That is the fun of this comic so kick back and and enjoy the crazy ride!
